SPECIAL COVID-19 UPDATE

We appreciate that you have allowed us to serve you with your CPAP or BiPAP and supplies. Thank you for your business!

We wanted to give you an update on how COVID-19 and the recent “shelter in place” orders are affecting Carolina’s Hometown Respiratory.

First of all, we want to let you know that we are considered an “essential” healthcare provider and as such we will remain open during the crisis to make sure we can provide you with support and supplies for your CPAP or BIPAP machines.

Carolina’s HomeTown Respiratory is dedicated to maintaining the safety of both our customers and our employees.  This notice is to advise you of practices that we employ to ensure this, as well as upcoming changes that we will be making to aid in the safety for all.

Within our locations,

  1. We have been disinfecting all surfaces that a customer comes in contact with after they have visited one of our offices.  This includes pens, clipboards, phones, table tops, chairs, doorknobs or handles, and any supplies the customer may have interacted with. 
  2. Our staff members have been adhering to strict handwashing or hand-sanitizing before and after each contact with a customer. 
  3. All staff workstations are being disinfected regularly, even though customers should not be interacting with these areas.  This includes computer equipment and monitors, phones and supplies.
  4. We have been screening all appointments in the office with questions about their current health, if they have any symptoms or recent travel from COVID-19 hotspots.
  5. We have introduced voluntary curbside supply pickups at the locations and encourage all of our customers to utilize our drop-ship program directly to their homes.

In addition to the above, we have been transitioning many of our support staff to work from home to make sure that within our work areas we have plenty of distancing space and we currently have almost 50% of our employees working from home.

Beginning April 1st, 2020, we will be taking additional measures to ensure the safety of our customers and staff members:

  • Twice daily we will be noninvasively taking and recording the body temperature of each employee at all of our locations.  Those with a body temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, or higher, will be sent home with instructions to consult with their physician, and will not be permitted to enter a location until they can provide medical clearance.
  • We will continue to schedule customers to come into our locations for service, but all locations will be closed to unscheduled public access.
  • If you arrive for a scheduled appointment, please ring the doorbell at the location and a staff member will come to get you.  They will noninvasively check your temperature before allowing you into the office.  Those with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be admitted.
  • If you have called ahead to our Resupply Department at (704) 378-0150 to order curbside pick-up of supplies, please ring the doorbell at the location and a staff member will bring your supplies to you.  At this time, we do encourage you to have all supplies shipped to your home.
  • If you do choose to come to our offices unannounced and have not called in, please ring the doorbell for service and we will try to accommodate you. Please be aware that we need to take care of those who have appointments or who have called ahead first. Remember, we have limited staff due to the shelter in place order and we will do our best to accommodate you.
